Event Details
The exhibition MODà architecture, photography, graphics, design, sustainability, aims to describe, also to non-specialist visitors, cultures and aspects of fashion that can be found in the Archival Fonds and Library Collections of the Politecnico di Milano, or that are connected to it through the personal and design history of the authors involved. The five themes are thus found throughout the exhibition panels and tables, dedicated to the figures of Gianfranco Ferré and Renzo Piano; but also Marina Spadafora, promoter of ethical and sustainable fashion; Andrea Pfister, fashion designer; and Elsa Haertter, fashion photographer.
Fashion emerges as a transversal language. Through archive materials, designs, images and original objects, the visitor is invited to discover how it is not just clothing or an accessory, but cultural vision, design research and social identity. A reflection on the power that fashion has to narrate the world, change perspectives and create relationships between disciplines.
The exhibition MODĂ architecture, photography, graphics, design, sustainability will be open until September 15, 2025 at the Historical Archives of the Politecnico di Milano, Bovisa Candiani Campus, with the following hours:
- Exhibition Hall: Monday to Friday, 9:30 AM â 8:00 PM
- Originals Room: Monday to Friday, 10:00 AM â 1:00 PM

Event Details
From May 6 to June 13, 2025, the 12th edition of MANTOVARCHITETTURA will take place, whose theme, âArchitecture and Conflict,â will address the problem of armed conflict, forced migration, and climate change in contexts such as-among others-Gaza, Ukraine, Syria, Myanmar, Sudan, and Yemen. Within this framework, MANTOVARCHITETTURA 2025 investigates the connection between architecture and conflict by analyzing the complexity of this binomial according to different cultural and disciplinary perspectives, and through the dialogue between multiple historical-critical narratives, in a contemporary perspective.
MANTOVARCHITETTURA invites students, professionals and citizens to an open discussion on the implications of architecture in these scenarios, stimulating a deep and multidisciplinary dialogue. The event investigates four different perspectives of conflict: architecture and armed conflict, conflicting memories, conflicts of interest and inner conflict. These paths offer alternative and complementary viewpoints to analyze architecture’s contribution to understanding and managing conflict.
MANTOVARCHITETTURA is an event launched in 2014 within the UNESCO Chair in Architectural Preservation and Planning in Heritage Cities, favored by the international dimension in which Mantova and the Politecnico di Milano are placed. The main protagonists have always been the students, who have the opportunity to listen to and meet architects from all over the world who develop the new architecture starting from the knowledge of the ancient roots of this art, thus making the confrontation between masters and students lively, in a perspective founded on the value of history as a ground on which to cultivate the design of living spaces.

Event Details
A perceptual transformation through artificial intelligence, that brings to light the disparities related to gender in the work environment. The clear reflection of oneself and the surroundings gradually gives way to increasing opacity, as invisible barriers that divide us begin to materialize, altering our perception of the context. The experience unfolds in two complementary moments: a multimedia triptych that encourages collective reflection on gender discrimination, and an interactive installation that challenges our most ingrained beliefs. Every detail is carefully crafted to stimulate critical thinking, creativity, and personal awareness. Artificial intelligence is neither a dogma nor a threat, but a tool that should be adopted mindfully to support change.

Within the framework of the 24th Esposizione Internazionale Triennale di Milano âInequalitiesâ, the Department of Architecture and Urban Studies (DAStU) and CRAFT, Politecnico di Milano, present a collective reading and narration of inequalities from a territorial perspective, through a contribution structured around three thematic investigations. The different impacts of extreme climatic events and prolonged exposure to harmful health conditions, the varying opportunities for access to resources and limitations on mobility, and the lack of full citizenship rights due to processes of exclusion from housing and services are the three themes addressed by the DAStU working group at two different scales and using two different types of materials. On one hand, an immersive installation featuring three short films with testimonies from international experts takes stock of environmental issues, mobility/migration, and access to housing and services on a global scale. On the other hand, a model of the Milan area, accompanied by projections of maps and data, shows how these same issues manifest in this metropolitan context.

Hermann Czech. Starting from the existent presents for the first time in Italy the professional and intellectual trajectory of the acclaimed Austrian architect, a significant critical voice on the contemporary architectural scene. The selected projects for the exhibition cover a relevant time span, from the 1960s to the present, and include urban visions, residential buildings, installations and small transformative interventions on the existing. Drawings, photographs, models and a significant series of original furniture elements are presented along a sequence of rooms that identify design themes related to different scales of the city’s transformation. A series of original documents testifies Czech’s relevant intellectual activity, significantly presenting the link between his critical thinking and Viennese architectural culture. The exhibition is complemented by a photo essay by Stefano Graziani investigating the working space of Czech’s studio in Vienna.
Curated by Hermann Czech, Eva Kuss, Angelo Lunati, Gennaro Postiglione with Emilio Ellena.

Ambiente, mobilitĂ e cittadinanze
